This was the craziest day of my life!! It happened a little bit before New Years 2010. Lindsey Sharman and I went on a three hour drive through the slippery mud-filled roads along the Mara with my parents. My dad was driving. A really nice man named Kevin went with us...along with three Masai chiefs who just wanted a ride. The kids in this picture had never even seen (well...most of them hadn't) a white person! And they saw four of us. They were literally going crazy. We had such a crazy day and ultimately got home at 2 AM. My favorite thing about that day was visiting Kevin's family who had the longest most bump driveway I had ever experienced. Our amazing Land Cruiser hardly made it to their house :) His family gave us chickens as a gift...and some yummy sweet bread and hot chocolate that was very watery. I loved how Kevin's family was so generous to us even when they didn't have much to give. They were amazing. And although I was so tired and muddy when we finally got back to camp, I really look back on this day as the best one in a long time :)
